ONE TIME: DOUBLE IPA – 12/12/15

Brunswick East’s Temple Brewing Company will release its first ever Double IPA this year on December 12, 2015. Our aim with this beer is to showcase the very best ingredients that our amazing suppliers can source and to let our head brewer Glenn Harrison and his brew team, Anders Norman & Aaron Schultz throw everything they’ve got into one batch of delicious, hoppy salvation that we put out, once every 12 months. Temple makes beers true to style, with passion and dedication to craftsmanship, so we thought the best way to show our friends and supporters what we’re truly capable of was to make a bigger version of one of our most popular beers to date. Off the back of ‘Anytime’, our always appropriate, always available 4.7% Session IPA (Awarded AIBA Trophy: ‘Best International Pale Ale’ 2015) we introduce ‘Onetime’, our first ever Double IPA, so big that’s it’s only appropriate and only available ‘Onetime’ a year. Tasting notes: Onetime offers sweet, upfront aromas of fresh Passion fruit, Mandarin and green Pineapple giving way to a full piney note delivered by the Simcoe hop, followed by a deep fleshy fruit profile of Mango and Orange. Flavours of freshly cut grass with an underlining earthy base, gives you a massive, resiny hop hit with every mouthful that’s balanced and pronounced, that will keep you going back for more! Hops: Citra, El Dorado, Mosaic, Simcoe, Amarillo ABV: 7.8% IBU: 90 This year’s release will be available in 50ltr steel kegs, and only available in Victoria. Our aim for next year is to widen the ‘Onetime’ distribution and all things willing, introduce a...

The combination of Comet and Melba hops has produced a spicy bitterness leading into fresh aromas of Passionfruit, Grapefruit and Summer Berries. If you’re completely in the dark about the back story, check out this article on The Crafty Pint that sums it all up: http://craftypint.com/event/8873/Eastern-Coast-IPA-Collaboration-at-Temple-Brewing For interstate friends, keep an eye out for bars in Sydney & Tassie announcing when they’re tapping their kegs. WEEKEND UPDATE! NEW BEER!

WEEKEND UPDATE: NEW BEER! We had the pleasure of collaborating with and brewing a beer for The Royal Mail Hotel, Dunkeld. The beer is ready, and after a successful launch event held at Temple Brewing Company, the beer is ready for you to try! The beer? An Autumn Lemon Verbena & Pink Peppercorn Belgian Witbier named ‘Seasons Harvest’ and sits at 4.5%. The Lemon Verbena & Pink Peppercorns were harvested from the Royal Mail’s kitchen gardens and we couldn’t be happier with how its turned out! It’s pours pale straw in colour and has a very distinct and welcoming citrus/sherbet aroma from the Lemon Verbena. A smooth and crisp mouth feel is later accompanied by a berry sweetness and finishes with a peppery/earthy warmth. This is an extremely limited release, and besides The Royal Mail hotel, Temple Brewing Company is the only other venue to have this, get in while you can. We’re open! Friday: 12pm-11pm Saturday: 12pm-11pm (Collab Brew Day – FREE EVENT) Sunday: 12pm-9pm (Now open for dinner) Bookings aren’t essential but appreciated. Shoot an email to bookings@templebrewing.com.au OR call the venue on 9380 8999. Photo Credit: BAR/D UP...

Eastern Coast IPA – Collab Brew Day! Sat May 2!

Breweries from Queensland, New South Wales, Tasmania and Victoria are joining forces at Temple Brewing on May 2 to create a collaboration brew with a difference. All of the breweries in attendance have experienced significant problems with a supplier and are coming together with the “common goal of making a positive out off a negative, to prove what the industry is really about.” The brew day is open to the public and will see the brewers create an “Eastern Coast IPA” which they will then sell on to raise funds to help cover their losses. The collaboration idea was put forward by Glenn Harrison, head brewer at Temple, after he discovered a number of small Australian businesses were in a similar – or worse – situation to them. Breweries and businesses in attendance on the day include: Temple, Melbourne The Winston, Hobart Rutherglen Brewery, Rutherglen Shark Island, Sydney Barrier Reef Brewery, Cairns Rogue Wave Brewery, Surf Coast Boneyard Brewing, Melbourne Bruny Island Brewery, Tasmania Bale-Worker Project Brewery, Melbourne White Lies Brewing, Brisbane Asahi, Laverton The brewery will be open to all on the day so join the beer community as they rally to make something good of a bad situation. Doors open to the public from 12pm with a spit roasting in the beer garden and beer specials throughout the...
